Designed for individuals seeking a career in the dog training profession, professional dog trainers wanting a formal qualification for their skills and experience and organisations whose staff come into contact with companion animals, this course covers the theory behind dog psychology, behaviour modification, dog training principles and canine care.
Students will learn how to apply operant and classical conditioning methods and techniques to modify behaviour and will learn skills to assist in key areas of dog ownership and training.



This course offers blended learning with the delivery of the theory components online, comprising of reading material and video tutorials. Each online training module requires approximately 25 hours of online study. Once the online component has been completed we provide a full day practical workshop at the Hanrob Pet Hotel facilities in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra.


The blended learning course including all learning material and the 1 day practical workshop costs $465 and PAYMENT OPTIONS are available through our partner EDSTART*(*conditions apply)

How to Enrol

When you’re ready to enrol, click on the ‘Take this Course’ or ‘Enquire Now’ button and fill in your details, one of our dedicated education staff will contact you to discuss your course enrolment. Once the right course and study method have been selected you will be provided with a link for online enrolment into the next available intake in your state.


You will also be asked to complete and return a LLN (Language, Literacy and numeracy) test which is a course requirement to be made by an approved course provider or a Commonwealth, State or Territory government agency, Photo ID will also be required to complete the enrolment process. All Australian students require a valid USI which can be obtained from www.usi.gov.au if you do not already have one.


Once you have completed the online enrolment process, you will be provided with an invoice for payment at which time you can choose to pay upfront of via our payment plan provider EdStart offering interest free payment plans so you only pay for your course no hidden extras.
